Specialized has introduced the new Crux 5, a clear evolution toward pure racing gravel. The brand is moving away from the all-purpose approach of the previous generation and is betting on a bike that is more aero, more stable, and designed for long, fast races like Unbound Gravel.
The main new feature is its complete redesign: tubes inspired by the Tarmac SL8, fully integrated cabling, integrated cockpit, and greater tire clearance, now up to 55 mm. It is also limited to 1x drivetrains, with a maximum chainring of 52 teeth. According to Specialized, it improves aerodynamics by 15.2 watts at 45 km/h and maintains the stiffness and comfort level of the previous model.
On the road, the brand insists that the Crux 5 remains light, efficient, and comfortable, but now with a more stable behavior and aimed at pure performance. It is a bike designed for those who compete at the highest level and seek every possible advantage in increasingly fast gravel events.
